Old Jail Artwork

For those who do not know, the museum has purchased a plot of land where we are now planning a new museum building.  On this land is the old City Jail.  I was able to go inside it yesterday and take a look around.  On the walls were a few amazing pencil drawings most likely done by inmates, probably during the twenties.  I am always surprised by what can be found in the nooks and crannies of Avalon.

I thought I would share the drawings with you here.  They were too special not to!

  1. These are lovely, something very touching about them. Will the old jail building be kept as part of the new complex?

    • The museum is not planning on demoing the old jail for the moment, however, we cannot promise anything. It will all depend on the plans for the new museum building. My fingers are crossed though!
